Certification Requirements

Listed here are all the requirements to earn your Nova CoS Certification.

  • Your full attendance is required

  • Upload the pre-work before traveling

  • Don’t forget your laptop!

  • We require full attendance to complete your certification.

You’re expected to attend all three full days of Nova programming during the conference. We do not offer an option to attend partial days, move between tracks, or split time between Nova and general conference sessions. We intentionally designed this experience to be immersive and cohort-based. Your continuous participation is essential to ensure you walk away with confidence and immediately applicable skills.

  • You will find all coursework for your certification through your Kajabi portal.

Once logged in, begin at the “Start Here/Getting Started” section at the top of the course library to orient yourself before moving into assignments.

You must bring your own working laptop to the conference course. We highly recommend using a personal laptop, as work-issued devices can often have restrictions or firewalls that block access to the required tools.

At minimum, your laptop must be able to access:

    • Kajabi (via your web browser)

    • Google Drive (for shared group folders)

    • PowerPoint or Google Slides (either is acceptable)

We will have a dedicated classroom WiFi network for all Nova students. Due to bandwidth limits, please connect only your primary laptop to this network. Conference WiFi will be available for personal device connectivity.

  • You should set aside approximately 5–6 hours to complete certification pre-work prior to arriving at the conference.

Pre-work is mandatory and essential to the success of the In-Person experience. As this is a team-based learning environment, you should be prepared so your table group can collaborate effectively right away.

When working through assignments in Kajabi, you will need to:

    1. Upload your work to the appropriate assignment upload box

    2. Click “Complete Lesson” at the top of each page

Doing so will unlock future course materials correctly and keep you moving forward.

While you’re in Kajabi, we ask that you follow instructions to download required templates and resources before you arrive to the conference, as this will help minimize WiFi strain during live sessions.

  • Training hours vary by conference. Follow the agenda for your selected conference for exact training hours.

  • It’s important to plan your travel accordingly. You should not book any flights prior to 8:00pm on Day 3, as there are activities required for certification that run through the end of the day. Missing any portion may impact your eligibility for completion. There are no exceptions to this policy.

For questions related to conference registration or ticketing, please contact our conference partners directly:

    APC: info@apcevents.com
    EA Ignite: info@eaignite.com

  • Have questions about your registration, transportation, or hotel stay? Please visit the ASAP conference page for details related to registration, payment, transfers, and refund policies.

For In-Person experiences hosted at ASAP conferences, all registration and payment processes are managed directly by ASAP. Nova does not receive funds until a student completes their training. Because of this, we’re unable to transfer registration to a different conference or apply funds already paid to ASAP toward another Nova offering.

During Your Training

Here is what you can expect during your time with your cohort and Team Nova.

Your future
career starts
here.

Your Certification Experience

We’re here to help you move forward with confidence, wherever you’re headed next. Click through to learn more about the time you’ll spend with Nova at your upcoming conference.

  • When you arrive at the conference, you’ll be pre-assigned to a table group of up to 7–8 students. You will remain with the same group for all three days of training.

We intentionally curated these table groups to create a high-trust, consistent learning environment. Over the three days, you will collaborate closely with your table mates, learn one another’s strengths, divide assignment work, overcome challenges in real time, and build meaningful professional relationships. Many of our table groups stay connected after the conference wraps!

Your table group will have a shared Google Drive folder for easy collaboration. Expect to receive an email with access to your table’s folder the weekend prior to the conference so you’re ready to jump in on Day 1.

  • To fully participate and get the most out of the training, we ask that you come prepared with the following:

    • Laptop and charger. We strongly recommend using a personal laptop rather than a work-issued device, especially if you work in a regulated environment.

    • Notebook and pen. Many students prefer handwritten notes during discussions and reflections.

    • Headphones compatible with your laptop. These are required for solo work and for particular assignments where students often replay the instructions multiple times.

    • Access to Google Slides or PowerPoint. Either platform is acceptable.

    • Your questions. Come ready to ask questions about the Chief of Staff role! There will be ample time for discussion and application.

    • A growth-minded attitude. It’s normal to feel some initial discomfort or self-doubt in an energetic, rigorous learning environment. Students who lean into this challenge with intention often leave feeling more confident and transformed. Plus, Team Nova will be there to support you through the entire conference experience!

  • After the conference, you’ll be expected to complete and upload any remaining assignments not finalized onsite.

You will also complete one final solo assignment focused on executive presence and strategic communication.

    This includes:

    • Creating a short presentation

    • Recording a 10-minute (or less) mock meeting with your executive

    • Delivering your strategic recommendations verbally and visually in the recording

Once all assignments are submitted and requirements are met, your Nova certification will be issued. You will also receive free lifetime access to the Self-Paced version of the course, contingent upon completion.
